[After explorations gone wrong, Lucy lost her ability to speak or understand Japanese. It was shocking to her how isolated it made her feel. She had tried to reach out to her friends with the network, but found she couldn't comprehend their old text messages. Why would she be able to understand new ones?

Nope. Best to give up. Go to Anne's Room, maybe, and pray this would 'wear off.' That was the plan... Until she saw a sign. And, most importantly, the person holding it. Her eyes mist with tears. She can read that.

Lucy wipes her eyes with her sleeve, then stomps up to him.]
